Wheeler’s Irish

Traditional velvety Irish Stout.

4.8% ABV | 15 IBUs

1812 Brewery salutes Daniel Wheeler. A maker of burnt sugar invented and patented the malt kiln in 1817. He used an iron cylinder similar in construction to a coffee roaster to roast malt to the point where a small amount of malt could darken a large amount of beer without imparting an overly burnt or tarry taste to the entire brew.  His invention of the malt kiln in 1817 opened new doors in the brewing world and was one of the major factors in the creation of the stout.
